She is preceded in death by grandparents Henry and Julia Sterbenz of Houston, and Gene and Rose Pearl Stautberg of Bellaire, Texas, and paternal uncle, James Charles Stautberg of Houston. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010. She graduated Cum Laude and was a four-year honor chord recipient. She also completed two years of graduate study at the University of Houston, and coauthored a published paper, "Elevated Serum C-Reactive Protein Relates to Increased Cerebral Myoinosital Levels in Middle-Aged Adults" with Dr. Andreanna P. She enjoyed being of service to others by tutoring fellow students, and by interfacing with volunteers at her work in clinical studies.
An artistic soul, Sandra loved poetry, painting, pottery, photography, and music. She also had a soft spot for cats, especially her much-loved Spirit Kitty. She took up violin in the second grade and played for a number of years. She earned her First Degree, Eighth Gup Black Belt in Tai Kwan Do. She enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball in high school, surfing, and even tried her hand at pole vaulting.
Sandra had a sparkling personality and a great sense of humor. Her wit and intellect will be missed by her many friends and especially by her family, who keep her close to their hearts. We are so proud of her and love her so.
