KATHRYN ELIZABETH MOUNT MOODY, age 69, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. The youngest of three daughters, she was born on August 17, 1945, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Guy and Mary Thompson Mount.

Kathryn graduated from the University of Houston. She was very active with the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) in Fort Bend County for many years, where she served in various positions including President of the Association. KATHRYN ELIZABETH MOUNT MOODY, age 69, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. The youngest of three daughters, she was born on August 17, 1945, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Guy and Mary Thompson Mount.

Kathryn graduated from the University of Houston. She was very active with the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) in Fort Bend County for many years, where she served in various positions including President of the Association. For over twenty years, she worked in child development for special needs children from 0 to 3. Kathryn worked for the Richmond State School and retired as Program Director for the Children's Center for Developmental Therapy. She was appointed by two Texas governors to serve on state boards to set policies for the State of Texas Special Education Programs.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Anne Shirley. She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, James Robert (Bob) Moody; sons, Robert Moody, Jr., Christopher Allen Moody (Lisa), and Jonathan Scott Moody; grandchildren, Colby, Mason, Caitlin, and Michael Moody; sister, Glenda Edwards; nieces and nephews, Tre and Mary Evelyn Edwards , and Neala Shirley (Joe); and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Memorial Celebration of Kathryn's life will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, April 6, 2015, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with the Rev. J. Craig Ashcraft, officiating.
